Objective
To prepare participants to qualify as Radiation Safety Officers (R.S.O.) in organizations using self-shielded (Gammacell-type) research irradiators. Consult local requirements for R.S.O. training.
Participants
This course is intended for individuals designated to become Radiation Safety Officers for self-shielded research irradiators.
Frequency and Duration
This five-day course is usually offered once a year. Additional courses can be scheduled for groups of five or more. This course can also be delivered at other locations if a self-shielded irradiator is available.

Safety principles, safety systems, source production, transportation and use. Hands-on experience using appropriate self-shielded irradiators - Dosimetry
Methods and procedures overview - Duties, Function and Responsibilities of the R.S.O.
