Service Irradiation
The five (5) irradiators at the Canadian Irradiation Centre(CIC) provide irradiation capability for a vast array of products.
Products currently being irradiated include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Healthcare raw material (millions of pounds per year)
- Spices, one of a few foods allowed by Canadian Law
- Human bones for transplant
- Pharmaceutical & medical devices (for sterilization)
- Fiber optic cable (radiation resistance qualification)
- Plastic bottles/containers for food and medical applications
- Pet chew (pig ears, raw hide.....)
- Cosmetics of all kinds. Examples: body cream, mascara, shampoo, liquid soap, shaving cream
- Reactor & satellite components
- Natural Health Food supplements
