Providing Clean Drinking Water to Developing CountriesMDS Nordion is a sponsor of WaterCan's annual Embassy Dinner held each year in May. The event features a ‘BUFFET OF NATIONS'. Embassies and High Commissions representing some 40 countries offer a delicious and varied assortment of culinary specialties from their respective homelands while raising funds to provide clean drinking water to the world's poorest people. Employees also donate generously through a two-week campaign. Since its creation in 1987, WaterCan has assisted more than one million people in 32 developing countries. Their projects include three important and inter-related components - appropriate water systems, sanitation facilities and hygiene education. WaterCan currently supports projects in Africa .
